Curtis Park Home and Garden Tour Artist RFPThe Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association (SCNA) and Sierra 2 Center for the Arts & Community are dedicated to preserving the heritage of Curtis Park while fostering a vibrant space for arts, education, and local events. As a cornerstone of the Sacramento community, we offer gathering spaces, classes, cultural programs, and advocacy efforts that enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike.SCNA seeks qualified artists to deliver one of five unique portraits of the historic homes that will be featured in the 2026 Curtis Park Home and Garden tour. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, an estimated 700+ individuals will stroll under leafy canopies and step inside each of the five historic homes, experiencing these one‑of‑a‑kind, old‑world, iconic treasures. Each piece of art will provide a lasting reflection of the home and be available on event day for all to appreciate. The artwork will then be gifted to the homeowners at the closing reception that same day.This opportunity is open to artists 18 and older, of all skill levels who work in any one of the following 2‑dimensional art mediums:OilAcrylicWatercolorDrawingCharcoalGraphitePastel mixed mediaDigital paintingArtwork should be 20”x20” or larger; framed or unframed is acceptable.Selected artists will meet with homeowners and have access to the property to explore and create their work. Work must be finalized and digitized by no later than April 10, 2026 to be included in the tour brochure.Pending homeowner approval, artists may choose to work en plein air the day of the event at the home they are selected to reflect where they can promote their work. Time and materials for this session will be the responsibility of the artist.We provideA $200 stipendTicket to the Curtis Park Home & Garden Tour and event reception (5 pm – 8 pm)All other requirements for the art piece shall be provided by the artist.What you provideAn original work of art, minimum 20”x20” framed or unframed, to be gifted to the homeownerA high‑quality digital image (minimum 2000 × 2000 px, 300 dpi) to be used in all event promotional materials.
