Surveyor
The Surveyor supports construction operations by collecting, verifying, and communicating survey information used for layout, quantities, as built records, and project control. This role helps ensure field teams have accurate information to build work safely, efficiently, and tospecification.
Job Responsibilities
Lead survey support for complex project needs, including layout, control, quantities, and as built information.
Read plans and project documents to understand layout needs, elevations, alignments, and field conditions.
Guide less experienced team members on survey standards, field practices, and problem solving.
Coordinate with project, field, CAD, and AMG teams to resolve discrepancies and support timely decisions.
Maintain clear records of survey work, field notes, control points, and as built information.
Follow established survey standards and support a safe, accurate, and reliable field process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of construction survey practices, field measurements, layout, control, and as built documentation.
Ability to read plans, interpret elevations and alignments, and recognize conflicts or missing information.
Strong attention to detail with practical judgment in field conditions.
Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field and project teams.
Ability to organize work, protect data accuracy, and follow through on commitments.
Education and Certificates
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related technical training, certification, or equivalent experience in construction, surveying, drafting, or field technology preferred.
Physical Requirements
Perform work in office, project, and field environments as needed.
Work outdoors in varying weather and terrain when supporting field activity.
Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move between work areas during the workday.
Use standard office equipment and communicate in person, by phone, and through written communication.
Visit active construction sites and follow required safety practices when applicable.
Occasionally lift or move field equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
