Description: As aLaboratory Operations Technician II, you will be a key member of our Internal Component Refurbishment Team, supporting efficient lab operations and refurbishment processes. This role combines lab management, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and hands-on testing support using automated molecular platforms. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Equipment Cleaning and Maintenance - Collect assay tray carriers, sample racks, laboratory equipment, and other reusable materials from designated work areas.
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of reusable items using approved procedures in compliance with GLP standards.
- Ensure proper handling, segregation, and labeling of materials during collection and cleaning to prevent cross-contamination.
- Inspect cleaned items to confirm cleanliness and suitability for reuse.
- Return cleaned materials to appropriate laboratory locations in a timely manner to support continuous operations.
Sample Handling and Testing Support - Receive, log, and track swab samples generated during refurbishment activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare and load samples onto automated molecular platforms to support refurbishment verification testing.
- Dispose of samples and consumables following approved safety and compliance guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of sample processing, testing activities, and results in accordance with data integrity standards.
- Ensure traceability and accuracy through strong attention to detail.
- Collaborate closely with refurbishment and laboratory operations teams to ensure efficient workflows and timely completion of testing.
Project Work - Execute project tasks independently or with minimal supervision to support team goals and operational improvements.
- Partner with team members to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Document, track, and communicate project progress and outcomes.
Qualifications - Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure proper handling of samples and equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials weighing over 20 pounds.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
