Role Overview We are seeking a
Senior FinOps Architect / Lead with deep expertise in
multi-cloud FinOps (Azure, AWS, GCP) and
Technical Due Diligence (TDD). This role will lead cloud cost optimization initiatives while supporting
M&A, private equity, and enterprise transformation efforts through financial, architectural, and operational cloud diligence.
The ideal candidate combines
hands-on FinOps execution,
financial modeling, and
TDD experience, providing clear, defensible insights to executives, investors, and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Multi-Cloud FinOps Leadership - Define and lead FinOps strategy and operating models across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Establish financial governance, cost controls, and accountability frameworks across engineering teams.
- Drive unit economics, chargeback/showback, and cloud cost transparency.
Cost Optimization & Engineering Controls - Execute hands-on cost optimization initiatives:
- Compute, storage, and database rightsizing
- Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, CUDs
- uto-scaling, workload scheduling, idle resource remediation
- Implement multi-cloud budgets, alerts, and guardrails.
FinOps Tooling & Automation - Implement and optimize FinOps tooling:
- zure Cost Management
- WS Cost Explorer, CUR, Budgets
- GCP Billing & Cost Management
- Third-party platforms (Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth, Kubecost, Finout, etc.)
- Develop dashboards and automated insights for real-time spend visibility.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Modeling - Lead cloud cost forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Build scalable financial models aligned to product roadmaps and growth plans.
- Partner with Finance on long-range planning and optimization strategies.
Tagging, Allocation & Governance - Define and enforce standardized tagging/labeling strategies across all clouds.
- Ensure accurate cost allocation by product, environment, team, and customer.
- Improve tagging compliance and reporting accuracy.
Technical Due Diligence (TDD) Responsibilities - Lead or support Technical Due Diligence engagements focused on:
- Cloud cost structure, spend efficiency, and scalability
- FinOps maturity and governance models
- Unit economics and margin sustainability
- Cost risks, optimization opportunities, and future spend projections
- ssess cloud architecture and operational readiness from a financial and scalability perspective.
- Identify cost-related risks, technical debt, and post-acquisition optimization levers.
- Produce executive-ready diligence reports, including findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Partner with PE firms, M&A teams, and executive stakeholders during diligence and post-close integration.
Required Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in Cloud, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
- 6+ years of hands-on FinOps and cloud cost optimization experience.
- Strong multi-cloud expertise across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Proven experience supporting or leading Technical Due Diligence (TDD) initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of FinOps frameworks (Inform, Optimize, Operate).
- Strong experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and unit economics.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications - FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional.
- Prior experience working with Private Equity, M&A, or consulting firms.
- Kubernetes cost optimization (Kubecost).
- SaaS and subscription-based cost models.
- Experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or regulated environments.
